Making my eBook was not only fun, but it gave me the chance to practice the skills and tools that I was previously introduced to through my first SlideRocket presentation: "My TPACK Journey." With this second project, we were given more freedom - in both choosing a topic that was meaningful to us, and also in the steps we took to get to the final product. As I began working away on this project, I realized quickly that it was something I would love from start to finish. I chose to focus on a safari I went on in Malawi, and enjoyed reliving the moments. However, I can see that I needed to be prepared for this step. If this task would have been given to me before as my first Sliderocket project, it would have been a frustrating experience. Using the guided model to initially introduce this software was vital, as it provided a foundation for taking the next step in designing an eBook of my own. As a teacher, I can see the importance of introducing students to technology before letting them loose to explore it on their own with only their creative devices to guide them.
