My TPACK Journey

I have certainly learned a lot from the experience of creating this eBook, since prior to this project I had only made presentations on PowerPoint.  Now I have another platform that allows me to be creative in making presentations.  SlideRocket is easy to use, and offers a lot of variety in terms of backgrounds, fonts, word art, special effects, transitions, etc.  Being able to embed videos and audio files right into it is another plus.  For teaching, eBooks can be used as a tool to present information or to launch a webquest, and can be accessed by all students by posting it onto the class website.  Students can also be taught to use SlideRocket as a means of presenting information that they have researched.  It is a fantastic end product of any project-based lesson because students choose how they want to organize their information, what they feel is important to include, and how to present what they have learned.  In teaching students how to use eBooks, I would ask them to build on their skills in a step-by-step manner.  Rather than overwhelming students by giving them all the aspects of SlideRocket at one time, I would ask them to explore one aspect of a time (i.e. fonts, backgrounds, etc.) and have them build upon it over a period of time.
